• Notes

  Phillip Goodman, 70, of Atlanta, died Aug. 23, 2003. Memorial services were held Aug. 27 with Rabbi James Egoff officiating. Mr. Goodman began a career in broadcasting as production manager of Georgia Public Television and later became the first director of Peach State Public Radio (PSPR), now the Georgia Public Radio Network (GPRN). He retired in 1992 after 25 years of service with GPTV/PSPR. He was a graduate of the University of North Carolina, served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy and as an electronics officer both in the North Atlantic and at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. He had a life-long interest in electronics and was a member of the American Radio Relay League and was honored by the Quarter Century Wireless Association for 50 years as a licensed ?ham? operator. Survivors include his wife, Mickey Goodman; sons, David and Nathan Goodman; daughter, Elizabeth Azani; six granddaughters; brother, Vincent Goodman of New Orleans; and sister, Gloria Gordon of Concord, Calif.
