  ERIC DAVID MENDELSON~ A PERSON WHO HAD A TRUE LOVE OF LEARNING Simply stated, Eric was a very intelligent and creative person. His intelligence and creativity really shone through when referring to the true loves of his life, music and computers. At a very young age, Eric developed an interest in music and from there he never looked back. He played in the band all four years at Clawson High School, where he graduated from in 2003. Recognized for his musical abilities, he was the recipient of the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award, given to him by the school. Eric also played with many other musical groups as well. There was no question that the keyboard and percussion instruments were his favorite. Computers were another passion of Eric's and his family remembers him as someone who knew everything about them. He had even had a small computer business for a while. As a composer of electronic music, he was able to combine the two loves of his life to produce computer generated electronic music. His artistic side also included a true appreciation of things such as reading and philosophy. In addition, mathematics was an area where he excelled. After graduating from Clawson High, Eric began taking college courses and had eventually hoped to attend Walsh College and pursue a degree in accounting. Eric died suddenly on Monday, February 6, 2012 in Livonia. He was 27 years old. He was born on November 5, 1984 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, and lived in Clawson for 20 years. Beloved son of Alan and Kim Mendelson. Also survived by his two brothers, Andrew and Alex. Cherished grandson of Geraldine McVety and the late Donald McVety and David & Ruth Mendelson. Also left to cherish his memory are many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
