The funeral of Mrs. Sarah Lisker, 89-year-old matriach of the Jewish colony of Providence, was held last Monday afternoon from the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mason White, 128 Fifth street, followed by burial in Lincoln Park Cemetery. Rabbi Morris Schussheim of Temple Beth Israel, officiated. Mrs. Lisker died last Sunday at her daughter's home. She was born in Russia, but came to Providence 45 years ago. For nearly half a century she had devoted herself to charitable enterprises, having been active in the affairs of the Jewish home for the Aged, the Jewish Orphanage and the Ladies' Union Alliance. Surviving her are one son, John Lisker, five daughters, Mrs. Harris Lisker, Mrs. Joseph Cohen, Mrs. White, Mrs. Morris Blackman and Mrs. Berry, all of this city, 29 grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
