Notes |
- REINSTEIN, Harold Died peacefully at Hebrew Senior Life in Roslindale (MA) on June 18, 2018, at the age of 101. Over a long and rich life that began in a Dorchester tenement, Harold achieved many of his boyhood dreams, including living a life in science like his boyhood hero, French chemist Louis Pasteur. As a teen he helped support his family through the Great Depression, then served overseas during WWII. Returning, he married his beloved wife Sireen in 1947, and embarked on a career in which he rose from a lab technician to director of The Boston Medical Laboratory. On retirement in 1982, he earned a master's degree in gerontology and advocated for senior citizens. He was known for his quick wit, patience, warm smile and ceaseless good humor. He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Sireen (nee Rabinovitz), and is surivived by his children Victor Reinstein, Ruth Reinstein Rogers, Ted Reinstein, and William Reinstein, as well as 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
