  MAPLE GROVE '97 Shamblott, Bernie R. died June 6, 2008, surrounded by his loving family. He fought a brave and courageous battle against gastric cancer. Bernie was born Nov. 21, 1938 in Duluth, Minn. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eva [Singer] and Shaddy Shamblott. Bernie was a longtime New Ulm resident and retired in 2006 with his wife Shelly and relocated to Maple Grove, Minn. to be near their children and grandchildren. Bernie and Shelly owned and operated "The Carousel" for 28 years in New Ulm. Bernie was a loving, compassionate and devoted family man who cherished his family. He loved being a husband, father, and "Papa". Bernie is survived by his wife, Shelly; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Kate; daughters, Stacy and Jodi; grandchildren, Matthew Wertheimer and Rachel Shamblott.
