  Barbara Leterman Fletcher passed away July 13, 2005, at DePaul Medical Center. She was born in Norfolk, June 7, 1925, to Jack and Louise Rotholz Leterman (of blessed memory). She was the widow of Samuel A. Steingold and Phillip E. Fletcher. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Linda and Ronald Spindel, Sally and Steven Kocen and Jonathan Fletcher; her grandchildren, Kevin and Jennifer Spindel, Michelle and Steve Halpern, Stephanie and Dane Galbraith and Samantha Fletcher; and her great-granddaughter, Jillian Faith Whedbee. She was predeceased by her grandson, Jeffrey Brian Spindel. She is also survived by her sister, Jane Leterman Frieden and her husband Leonard and her nieces and nephews. Known as "Gammie" to everyone, she was a loving mother and a devoted friend. She dedicated her life to helping others, including almost 40 years of volunteering her time and energy to DePaul Medical Center. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Ohef Sholom Temple, 530 Raleigh Ave., Norfolk, VA 23507 or to Jewish Family Service, 260 Grayson Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23462. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Ohef Sholom Temple, 530 Raleigh Ave., Norfolk by Rabbi Rosalin Mandelberg and Cantor Jennifer Bern-Vogel. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
