  Beatrice Howitt, 88, died Friday. She was predeceased by her husband, Benjamin, and a daughter, Brenda Tucker. She was born April 12, 1914 in New York City. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Jack and Harriette Howitt of Rochester, N.Y.; a daughter and son-in-law, Valerie and Richard Fiedel of Atlanta, Ga.; her grandchildren, Lauren, Wendy, Rachel, Kenneth, Michael and Jessica; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Howitt was the owner of the resort, Mountaincrest Lodge, and a resident of Stroudsburg from 1936 to 1975. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, in Temple Israel Cemetery, Middle Smithfield Township.
