- Frank Allen Jacobs died Aug. 12, 2012 peacefully at his home surrounded by his family and pets. He is survived by his wife [over 51 years] Joanne L. Jacobs; his children, Lynn J. Daniel and husband Phil, Frank allen Jacobs Jr, and Christopher I. Jacbs and his wife Kari; three grandchildren, Victoria D. Ballinger and husband Trevor, Leo Daniel, and Kiersten Jacobs; and his loving pets, Rosie and Louie. He was predeceased by his parents, Isaac W. Jacobs and Marion Jacobs; and sister, Edna J. Wolfe.
Frank was a multi-generational resident of the Norfolk area. He attended Norfolk Academy, was a graduate of Randolph Macon College and studied law at Washington and Lee. He served in the Marine Corps after completing Officer Candidate School. He was an innovator in the concert sound and production business for over two decades. He created several businesses [F. Jacobs Bros., Jacobs Music, Music and Sound, Electro Sound, Inc, and Sound Exchange]. He was involved in auto financing prior to his retirement.
Frank' fondest memories were of raising racehorses with his father and being an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed telling stories of duck and goose hunting and fishing offshore.
Funeral services will be held at Ohef Sholom Temple on Raleigh Ave. in Norfolk on Thursday, Aug. 15, follwed by burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery
