- (Research):Mrs. Miriam S. Levy died suddenly at her home, 370 Palmerston Boulevard, on July 27. Mrs. Levy was one of the first members of the Ladies Aid Society, organized in 1910 for the relief of the needy; assisted in the organization of the Hebrew Weston Sanitarium; was a pioneer member of the Mizrachi and active in it since its inception; a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Mount Sinai Hosnitrl: of the Central Chapter of Hadassah since its fo mation; one of the earliest members of th? Hebrew Maternity Aid Society; and, until recently, active in the Talmud Torah; was one of the founders of the Toronto Jewish Old Folks Home, and worked toward the new Home, which is now being built, and was a member of the board of directors, for several decades being its honour-ary treasurer; and was a member of the Hebrew Men of England Congregation. She was noted for her sound judgment and keen wit. She is survived by: her husband, Rabbi M. H. Levy; her sons, Jules and Nat., of New York; daughters, Mrs. Louis Goldfine (Ida); Mrs. H. B. Miller JSarah); and Mrs. Harry Shiller (Anne), all of Montreal, Quebec; Mrs. Morris J. Weiss (Lottie); and Mrs. Louis James (Belle), both of Toronto; her grandchildren, Mrs. Samuel CAU -JAjuiafce^. Goldfine): Mjrs. Benjamin Louis (Anabel Miller), Alvyn Shi'.ler, and Miss Joyce Shiller, all of Montreal; Rabbi Marvin Goldfine, Mrs. Lester Cooper (Audrey Levy); Jimmy Levy, Mrs. George Pager (Enid Levy); and Miss Phyllis Levy, all of New York; Mrs. Jack Gottheil (Hadassah Goldfine), of Cleveland, Ohio; Mrs. Harry Weiner (Shirley Arlene Weiss), Misses Barbara and June Weiss, and Philip James, all of Toronto; and four greatgrandchildren.
