      43 Years, Dies at 63
      Services were held Tuesday,
      at Ira Kaufman Chapel, for
      Dr. Abraham Koven of 21940
      Gardner, Oak Park. Dr. Koven,
      63, a Detroit physician for 43
      years, died Sunday at University
      Hospital, Ann Arbor, after
      five weeks of hospitalization.
      He was diagnostician for the
      Detroit Health Department for
      35 years, was on the staff of
      Detroit Memorial Hospital and
      maintained offices in the Professional
      Bldg.
      Dr. Koven was born in New
      York and graduated from the
      Windsor Collegiate Institute
      and the Detroit College of
      Medicine. He was a member
      of the American Medical Ass'n.,
      American Academy of General
      Practice, Wayne County Medical
      Society, Perfection Lodge
      F. & A.M.; and American Legion
      Julius Rosenwald Post.
      He is survived by his wife
      Lillian; two daughters, Mrs.
      P. H. Garvin and Mrs. Jacob ,
      Auslaender; three brothers,
      Theodore, Benjamin and Milton
      Kovinsky; three sisters,
      Mrs. Morris Passman, Mrs. Edward
      Wolf and Mrs. Harry
      Lewen, and two grandchildren.
