DNA Testing can be used to confirm a male lineage. If we test the
Kitzes families with male descendents, their DNA should match.
Minor discrepancies could help differentiate the branches. Major
discrepancies would cast doubt on the relationship to Rabbi Ze'ev
Wolf Kitzes.
How?
We have set up a Family Surname Project with
familytreedna.com. The most effective test for our
purposes is the 37 marker test. Our discounted price is $189.
The 12 marker test ($99) and the 25 marker test ($148) could also be
helpful, and can be upgraded at a later date. There is also a 59
marker test for $269
